Purpose Of the Role:
To support all Transit Terminal (TT) operations while working collaboratively within a team environment. The role requires a proactive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to take direction to develop key skills and contribute effectively to daily tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate handheld scanning devices to accurately track freight
- Support Short Distance (SD) drivers with loading and unloading activities
- Follow all manual handling and health & safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment (general housekeeping)
- Collaborate with warehouse and transport teams to ensure efficient operations
- Learn core terminal processes through practical, hands-on training
- Progress to Material Handling Equipment (MHE) training upon meeting key competencies
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and compliance briefings
The ideal candidate will have
- A strong interest in developing a career in logistics or transport
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
- Basic understanding of health & safety and manual handling practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Flexibility to adapt to different tasks and shift patterns
- Basic IT or scanning device knowledge is an advantage
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment
