Purpose Of the Role:
Scheduled delivery and pickup of shipments.
Responsibilities
- Perform trunking duties to various delivery points across different operational areas, following a rota system and handling diverse equipment.
- Efficiently load and unload transport vehicles as part of scheduled delivery tours.
- Operate a range of trailers including curtain sider, double deck, and box trailers.
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations, including tachograph rules, vehicle safety, ADR (hazardous goods), and load securing, while maintaining a focus on cost-efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Accurately process freight documentation within the internal system.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks and perform routine maintenance to ensure vehicle care and safety
The ideal candidate will have
- Holds a valid Class 1 driving license
- Familiar with trunking and rota-based delivery routes
- Knowledgeable of tachograph, ADR, vehicle safety, and load securing rules
- Reliable with vehicle checks and maintenance
- Good communication and customer focus
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Flexible with shifts and routes
