Role: Transit Terminal Manager
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Flexible Monday - Friday
Location: Rathcoole, Dublin 

Salary: €55,000 - €65,000 per annum

*Own transport essential as site is not connected to any public transport network* 

Purpose Of The Role:

Due to the development of our Transit Terminal (cross-dock) operations, DACHSER is now seeking to recruit a Transit Terminal Manager. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the terminal is equipped to meet current operational demands while supporting future business growth. The successful candidate will lead and continuously develop the Transit Terminal, with a strong focus on its strategic direction, operational excellence, employee development, and long-term growth. This role will play a pivotal part in driving efficiency, safety, service quality, and continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical and disciplinary management of employees
  • Development of employees
  • Manage Terminal capacity and flow
  • Implementation of long-term resource planning
  • Equipment and facility oversight
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance
  • Ensure Quality and network compliance
  • Establishment of a sustainable management organization with continuous improvement tools to optimize quality and productivity
  • Monitoring of the development of the KPIs in the Transit Terminal handling (budget, costs, result, quality and productivity) and initiation of corresponding improvement measures
  • Implementation of the strategy as well as derived strategic planning for the own area
  • Operational contingency and business continuity management

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience managing a Transit Terminal / cross-dock, logistics warehouse, or transport operation
  • Experience leading large operational teams across multiple shifts
  • Strong background in freight handling, loading, unloading, and network operations
  • Experience managing productivity, quality, and operational KPIs
  • Experience in leading and developing a safety focused operation
  • Experience in resource planning, workforce scheduling, and labour management
  • Experience driving operational improvements and implementing best practices
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a transport, logistics, or supply chain environment
  • Strong interpersonal and people development skills
  • Minimum Level C1 English
  • Be flexible to the requirements of running an operation that requires up to 24 hour / 5 day operation
