Location: Rathcoole, Dublin or Galvone , Limerick

 Purpose Of The Role:

The charter planner will be responsible for managing road freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining logistics documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Entry/processing/handling of shipment data ; from initial quotation to final delivery
  • Checking incoming TU invoices for correctness
  • Processing of returns of proofs of delivery
  • The role involves liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure efficient cargo transportation and resolve any logistics issues as they arise.
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers with regards to work orders, invoices, shipment status,  arrival notices etc.
  • Engage with customers in an inviting, friendly, and professional manner to deliver exceptional experiences and nurture lasting relationships.
  • Adhere to any specific customer processes and procedures.
  • Management of supplier and customer relationships to ensure that SLAs /targets are achieved.

The Ideal candidate will have: 

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment with strong organisational skills and coordination abilities .
  • Ability to work on their own initiative to source rates and quote on an ad hoc basis
  • Strong time management skills
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organise customer deliveries and collections and accurately track and trace cargo
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) demonstrating a high level of written and verbal communication skills essential with overseas agents, clients, suppliers, and the team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • Above all candidate needs to be enthusiastic and willing to learn and take ownership of this role
