Purpose Of the Role:
As a Warehouse Operative within our contract logistics team, you will be responsible for handling freight efficiently and safely to meet customer requirements. Your role will involve a variety of warehouse duties including picking, packing, loading, and unloading, while adhering to company procedures and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Correct handling and movement of goods within the warehouse
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Picking and packing orders accurately according to customer specifications
- Operating Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklifts or pallet trucks safely and correctly
- Reporting any damaged or incorrect stock following established procedures
- Following Health and Safety policies including all Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
- Using IT equipment daily (scanners, computers) to track and manage inventory
- Completing all required documentation accurately and timely
- Meeting operational deadlines and productivity targets
The ideal candidate will have
- Experience working in a warehouse environment, handling heavy and/or high-value goods
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work at a fast pace and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative
- Computer literate with experience using warehouse management systems or similar
- Certified or willing to be trained in manual handling and MHE operation
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience on reach truck (D2 license)
