Tasks

  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to gather necessary information for completing Customs Representation Authorization and customs declarations before shipping.
  • Review customer documentation to ensure all required data, such as EORI, VAT numbers, legal entities, customs procedures, and other applicable formalities, are present before starting customs clearance.
  • Proactively preventing and investigating patterns to resolve queries and avoid trailers being diverted to an Inland Border Facility (IBF).
  • Reducing transit times and customs debt to ensure that Dachser’s Transit Guarantee is not compromised. Promptly submit Transit Arrivals to Customs.
  • Identify and amend uncleared entries in a timely manner.
  • Resolve issues by collaborating with customers and relevant teams via email and telephone.
  • Communicate proactively with the Team Leader to ensure any issues or potential issues are known within the team.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail of electronic data at all times.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures for Customs and AEO processes.
  • Uphold Dachser values in your daily work ethic.
  • Efficiently manage personal and group email boxes. This is a multi-disciplinary role, and the tasks could vary day to day. 

Qualifications

  • Experience of complying with internal SLAs
  • Excellent communication skills – with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • An awareness of European geography Influence and impact people across all levels in the Organisation
  • Ability to listen to others and understand the situation from their perspective
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
  • Mathematical and computer literacy
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Skilled in adapting their style and language to suit the customer, department or level that they are dealing with
