Tasks

  • Prepare and submit accurate freight quotations for sea, air, and road shipments.
  • Source rates from carriers, co-loaders, and overseas offices within required turnaround times.
  • Maintain and update internal rate sheets, tariffs, and pricing databases.
  • Assist the sales team with pricing support for tenders, RFQs, and customer proposals.
  • Ensure all pricing complies with company policies, margin requirements, and service standards.
  • Follow up on outstanding rate requests to ensure timely responses.
  • Liaise with operations teams to verify costings, surcharges, and service availability.
  • Monitor carrier updates, GRI notices, and market changes affecting pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records of quotations issued and assist with performance tracking. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in freight forwarding or pricing (advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of freight rates, surcharges, and Incoterms.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and general computer literacy.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
