Tasks
- Prepare and submit accurate freight quotations for sea, air, and road shipments.
- Source rates from carriers, co-loaders, and overseas offices within required turnaround times.
- Maintain and update internal rate sheets, tariffs, and pricing databases.
- Assist the sales team with pricing support for tenders, RFQs, and customer proposals.
- Ensure all pricing complies with company policies, margin requirements, and service standards.
- Follow up on outstanding rate requests to ensure timely responses.
- Liaise with operations teams to verify costings, surcharges, and service availability.
- Monitor carrier updates, GRI notices, and market changes affecting pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations issued and assist with performance tracking.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric / Grade 12.
- 1–3 years’ experience in freight forwarding or pricing (advantageous).
- Strong understanding of freight rates, surcharges, and Incoterms.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and general computer literacy.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
