Tasks

  • Assist with daily stock counts and cycle counts

  • Help update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS)

  • Check stock accuracy and report discrepancies

  • Support labeling, tagging, and organizing inventory

  • Help inspect incoming goods for quantity and quality

  • Assist in preparing outgoing orders (picking, packing, documentation)

  • Verify delivery notes, invoices, and packing lists

  • Support coordination between warehouse staff and drivers

  • Observe and support warehouse layout optimization

  • Help maintain cleanliness and safety standards

  • Assist in monitoring stock movement and storage conditions

  • Learn how to operate basic warehouse tools (barcode scanners, handheld devices)

  • Enter data into inventory or ERP systems

  • Prepare simple reports (stock levels, damaged goods, daily movements)

  • File and organize warehouse documents

  • Support communication between warehouse, procurement, and logistics teams

Qualifications

  • Matric certificate with passes in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy

  • Basic understanding of business, accounting, or computer applications (advantageous)

  • Willingness to learn logistics and warehouse operations

  • BCom in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations, or Accounting

  • Understanding of inventory control, stock management, and business processes

  • Exposure to ERP/WMS systems through coursework is an advantage

  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
